We love working on solar panel installation projects here at Buckingham Electric Inc. If you’re thinking about installing solar panels on your home, you probably have several questions and want to know more about what happens during installation and beyond. Here are some of the common questions we get asked and their answers, but please know that if you want to know anything else, we’re always just a phone call away!
1. How Do the Panels Work After Installation?
After solar panel installation, your solar panels, which are made from conductive materials, will create a reaction that produces direct current (DC) electricity when the rays of the sun hit them. Your solar-generated DC energy will then go through an inverter to become alternative current (AC) electricity before it flows through your home’s wiring.
2. What Happens When the Sun Goes Away?
Your solar panels don’t necessarily require sunshine at all times to produce electricity. What’s more important is that they have unobstructed, direct access to UV rays, which is why proper solar panel installation is so important.
3. How Much Will I Really Save on My Electricity Bills?
The answer to this depends on how much your home uses electricity. In a lot of cases, solar power can offset between 70 to 90 percent of electric bills.
4. Is There Anything I Need to Do Before Installation?
Before we come and install your solar panels, make sure your yard is clear of any vehicles or large objects that could get in the way of our workers or the materials coming in. You should also plan on your home being a little bit louder than usual on the day of installation, so try not to plan activities that require a lot of peace and quiet when we’re doing the install.
